PLACES TO AVOID IN PITTSBURGH*
BAR Pittsburgh: Twice they set a special for us, then reneged when we arrived the night of the crawl.
BAR is now closed. It couldn't happen to a nicer place. Well, it wouldn't have happened to a nicer place.
Gator's: Two days before a crawl (and after the schedule went out), they called to insist on being moved up the crawl list. They didn't like being near the end. They liked us fine the half dozen times we crawled them before as the second bar. They said that they would rather never be on the crawl list again than not be where they wanted to be on the schedule. We haven't been back since.
*Just as I recommend places that have treated us well and encourage you to frequent them between crawls, I also encourage you to avoid those places that treat us poorly.
